Every October, the city of Circleville, Ohio turns orange for a month-long pumpkin show celebration!
The real pumpkin party takes place the third weekend of October, with hundreds of vendors displaying their pumpkin crafts, tasty treats, multiple parades, baking contests, the annual Largest Pumpkin Pie on record and the Largest Pumpkin contest.
Pumpkin Contests at the Pumpkin Show
The Circleville Pumpkin Show highlights 4 days of competitive fun with Little Miss Princess and Miss Pumpkin Queen, Best Cake, Best Pie, Best Cookies, Pumpkin Pie Eating contest, the 100th Anniversary Record Setting Pie and the town’s own Largest Pumpkin.
In 2023, the winner of the Largest Circleville Pumpkin produced a 2,388.5 pound pumpkin, an Ohio state record, by Bob and Jo Liggett! The winners receive a monetary check and bragging rights for the year.
Pumpkin Show Treats and Eats
Thousands of families visit the Circleville Pumpkin Show each year and let’s be honest, the sweet treats are what keeps them coming back. Everything from pumpkin cornbread (insanely delicious), pumpkin brownies, pumpkin fudge and a crowd favorite, pumpkin chili.
Entertainment
The weekend is full of four different parades, live bands, making clay pumpkins, pumpkin carving demonstrations, festival games and rides. Entry to the show is free with additional costs for rides and games. Saturday’s 8p Ohio Festival & Events Association Queens Parade wraps up the 2023 Pumpkin Show.
Vendors and Crafts
A large portion of the show highlights hundreds of talented artisan vendors with quality fall-themed items for sale. Household decor, jewelry, children’s bows and clothing, lawn decor, glass pumpkins and more. Come prepared to eat delicious food and shop the day away!
The Circleville Pumpkin Show is located in Circleville, Ohio around North Court Street and Main Street. The show is spread out over several blocks of the rural town with free parking and attendance.
