February brings another opportunity for winter fun — and a long weekend smack in the middle of the month! Presidents Day is Feb. 19, and whether you have to work all day or are just plain out of ideas, we’ve got you covered.

Presidents Day Maple Camp

Feb 19 from 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM at California Woods Nature Preserve
Watch experts make maple syrup from tree sap with drills, buckets, fire, and careful supervision at California Woods. There will be games, exploring in the woods, and making cool things. In honor of Abe Lincoln, there will also be stories and jokes. Dress for the weather—maple magic only happens this time of year when it’s often cold and muddy!

Presidents Day Skate

1-5 pm on Feb. 19 at Beechmont Rollarena
Open special hours on President’s Day — 1-5 pm — with $7 admission. Skate rental extra.

Taft Museum of Art

Open Feb. 19 from 10 am – 5 pm
Head over to the Taft Museum of Art for FREE admission!

Magic Land Cafe Open Play

Various times on Feb. 19
Play the day away at Magic Land Play Cafe. For just $12, get three hours of fun for your little ones aged 0-7.

Newport Aquarium

Open Feb. 19 from 9 am to 7 pm

The Shape of Nature

Open Feb 19. from 3 PM – 8 PM at Krohn Conservatory

Thomas & Friends are in every direction! Thomas play tables, Thomas crafts and coloring, a Thomas scavenger hunt, and you’ll even see some of Thomas and his friends running around the modern city in the World’s Largest Indoor Train display!

Ice Skating + Bumper Cars ($6 special)

Feb 19th from 12 pm – 8 pm at Fountain Square
The UC Health Ice Rink, presented by Fifth Third Bank is an outdoor ice arena that takes over Fountain Square with 600 pairs of rental skates, the WGU Ohio Warming Tent, a full-service concessions tent with hot and cold snacks, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
