I’ll admit it, before tasting the blackberries from Blooms and Berries Farm and Garden Center, they weren’t the most popular fruit in our house. The juicy berries wowed our entire family between sneaky bites in the blackberry u-pick field and have now become a summer tradition for making jams, berries & cream puff pastries and snacking!
Blackberry U-Pick Field Pass
At designated days and times, Blooms and Berries releases tickets for U-Picks when the weather is cooperative and the fruit is ripe. The best way to get on the list for blackberry notifications is by signing up for text alerts here. Typically the alerts go out the day before, so plan to have flexibility if you’re hoping for a morning at the U-Pick fields.
The blackberry u-pick field is located 3.5 miles from Blooms and Berries Farm, with address and directions given at the time of online ticket purchase. Included with your u-pick field pass is a trip back to the farm for fun at the play yard and brand new petting farm. Pay once for two activities!
The blackberry bushes have grown tall and produce thousands of hearty, juicy berries. Start by picking the entirely purple berries from the ground up to help the farm with pest control. Go ahead and have a little taste test, you just might need to purchase an additional basket after you bite into a delicious Blooms and Berries blackberry!
Play Yard and Petting Farm
Back at the farm and garden center, the new petting zoo area is home to goats, cows, alpaca, llamas, donkeys and sheep. Grains and hay is available for purchase as an add on to your U-Pick ticket or in person at the garden center. The animals won’t say no to a free lunch and lots of pets after your blackberry u-pick.
Snack on your freshly picked blackberries while playing a round of Guess the Berry, riding tractor-bikes, “roping” wooden horses, making music with flower instruments and sliding down the giant farm slide.
