Celebrating New Year’s Eve With Kids

Happy Holidays everyone! Shew, Christmas flew right past us, and before I knew it, the time to start planning New Year’s Eve is upon us. And if you have kids, you know that sometimes putting on your high heels and toasting to champagne are things of the past. But guess what? New Year’s doesn’t just have to be for grownups! So, let’s trade the high heels for pajamas and snuggle in for a fun time celebrating with our kiddos…AT HOME!

Here are some fun ways you can ring in the New Year with your littlest sidekicks!

1. Party Games

New Year’s Eve is a great time to have family time and what better way to start the night off than by gathering the family around the table and playing your favorite board game? There’s only 1 rule: no phones allowed during game time!

2. Balloons, Balloons, Balloons!

There are so many fun things you can do with balloons! Blow them up and toss them around, decorate the whole house with them, or there’s even FUN ideas you can do with balloons! Fill them up with confetti to pop at midnight, or I love the idea of making a balloon countdown game!

3. Noisemakers, Confetti, and More!

No party is complete without all the necessary party supplies! Grab some party hats, noisemakers, and confetti at the nearest party store and have fun with it! Or if you really want to get the kids involved, have them make their own party supplies! These party masks, party hats, and glitter wands are super F-U-N!

4. Mock Countdown

If you’re not too big on the idea of keeping the kids up until midnight, then keep calm warrior! Have a pretend countdown and they’ll never know! Simply change the clocks to ring at 8 or 9 pm and throw confetti, blow noisemakers, or pop a few fireworks, and then boom…the kids still go to bed on time!

5. Cookies and Milk Toast

You’ve just rang in the New Year and now you’ve got to toast! And since you’re celebrating with little ones, why not have a cookies and milk toast to ring in the new year? The kids will love this fun, midnight snack and will still get to be a party of the celebration of clinking of the glasses! Just don’t forget to brush teeth before bed 😉

Wait! There’s more! My family loves playing games and so I’m super excited to have designed a fun way to celebrate New Year with a New Year Bingo game. You can download it for free, laminate them if you’re up for it, and then play away! Bonus: we use confetti as the square covers!

I hope you enjoy these fun, kid-friendly ideas for helping you to ring in the New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
