Does Classroom Antics provide lunch/snacks or do parents need to provide them?

Parents send snacks and water. All day campers bring a lunch and both morning and afternoon snacks – and plenty of water.

What is the typical daily schedule for campers?

Camps are either from 9-noon or 1-4 pm. Campers get a new lesson daily with projects to complete using the new material. They spend most of their time working on their projects. We take a short break half-way through each camp for snacks and to go outside if weather permits.

How old are the counselors and how are they trained?

Most of our instructors are classroom teachers and work with us for their summer job. Some of our instructors are college students studying to become teachers with classroom experience.

Classroom Antics trains each instructor to become the subject expert for the camp they are teaching.

What accommodations are made for campers with special needs?

Campers that need ramps or an elevator should call us to make sure the facility they wish to attend has the proper accommodations. Most do, but I’d rather help families be sure.
Campers on the spectrum generally enjoy our camps and integrate with no issues. If they do have extra needs, we have camp managers on hand to assist the teacher. We want every student to enjoy their experience with us! As such, if a camper has outbursts that include hitting or other violence, we will remove that camper in order to keep everyone safe. Our teachers have behavior procedures to follow for all campers. Safety is first, and fun is expected.

What if my child’s age is close?

Classroom Antics programs are created for ages 7 – 14. When a child’s age is close to the age requirements for a camp, we then look to grade. For example, programs that have an age requirement of 7 years old, we require campers have completed 1st grade prior to camp. Call the office if you have any questions. We’re happy to help you get your child placed in a camp that will be appropriate for them!
