Dayton Live Presents A Year With Frog And Toad

Traditional & Sensory Inclusive Performances At The Victoria Theatre February 16 & 17

Part of Dayton Live’s Children Theatre Series Sponsored by Dayton Children’s

Our Children’s Theatre Series begins with a Broadway hit based on Arnold Lobel’s beloved children’s books, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD. This whimsical musical follows two fantastic friends – the cheerful, popular Frog and the curmudgeonly Toad through four, fun-filled seasons, where they meet new friends and create charming memories along the way. Frog and Toad celebrate and rejoice in their differences that make them unique and special, forming a friendship that withstands any season. A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD is an exuberant, and enchanting experience for the whole family that features a jazzy, upbeat score by Robert and Willie Reale that bubbles with melody and wit.

Sensory inclusive performances are great for all families, especially for people with autism, sensory sensitivities, or other social, learning, or cognitive disabilities. Patrons can expect a reduction of loud or jarring sounds, the absence of flashing or strobe lighting on stage, modification of house lights during the performance, and a judgment-free environment where everyone is free to vocalize or move around the theatre. At no time will anyone be asked to leave the performance due to vocal reactions, movement, or behaviors related to cognitive/developmental abilities.

Patrons will have access to professionally curated resource materials to use in preparation for their visit like checklists, social narratives, and “Meet Your Seat” videos. Dayton Live also has designated quiet areas in our venues for patrons to use during the performance. Trained staff and volunteers are excited for everyone to join us as we celebrate the power of friendship in A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD. Best for ages 4 and up!

The traditional performances will take place on Saturday, February 15 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., and the sensory inclusive performance will take place on Sunday, February 16 at 2 p.m.
