Romp in the pool, go bowling, take a horseback ride, hit the archery range, give sporting clays a try. That’s just the start, and yep, the kids will sleep well after a trip to French Lick Resort.
It feels like a getaway but it’s not far from your backyard and loaded with every adventure a kid (or kid at heart) could ever want.
Start by trying something new at the sporting range, which is friendly for everyone from total beginners to experienced marksmen. Sporting clays (ages 13+) simulates the thrill of the hunt, while younger kids will love the challenge of hitting 3D targets on the archery range (ages 5+).
Part of French Lick Resort’s appeal is there are so many ways to unplug for a bit, get outdoors and be active. Everything from horseback and pony rides to time on the golf course, where kids 12 and younger can play for free and ages 13-17 get half-price rates, when playing alongside an adult. There’s also nearly 13 miles of hiking trails to explore, and a horse-drawn family carriage ride is the perfect way to wind down the day.
At French Lick Springs Hotel, kids can go bowling, hit the arcade, devour deep-dish pizza and find games, crafts, scavenger hunts and more at the Activities Center. West Baden Springs Hotel features a quieter vibe where kids can join mom and dad at Saturday Afternoon Tea. Both hotels are open to explore, and a rail trolley gives free rides between the two.
In town or within a short drive you’ll find a ton of day-tripping attractions including an indoor water park, train rides, go-karting and mini golf. Marengo Cave or Indiana Caverns are perfect for beating the heat; Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari delivers plenty of thrills; and Wilstem Wildlife Park features encounters with elephants, giraffes, kangaroos and more.
