Throttle Time is a hands-on locomotive operating experience at Whitewater Valley Railroad where participants spend 30 minutes at the controls of a real diesel-electric train engine.
Before taking the throttle, guests complete a short training session with railroad staff to learn the basics of locomotive operation and railroad safety. Once training is complete, participants climb aboard the locomotive cab and operate the engine along the railroad’s main line.
During the experience, the locomotive runs “light,” meaning no passenger or freight cars are attached, allowing participants to focus entirely on operating the train.
