Families across Northeast Ohio can once again experience the magic of Christmas aboard the North Pole Adventure™ with the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR). Running November 14–December 22, 2025, this beloved holiday excursion transforms the historic railway into a wonder-filled journey through festive lights, music, and imagination — all in the heart of Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
A Magical Ride to the North Pole
Passengers board at Rockside Station and are instantly immersed in the holiday spirit. Each beautifully decorated railcar has its own Christmas theme — from Candy Cane Lane and Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen to The 12 Days of Christmas and Inside the Tree. As the train winds through the winter landscape, families can sip cocoa, munch cookies, and sing along with cheerful holiday tunes.
Children are invited to write letters to Santa during the ride. Once they arrive at the North Pole, the North Pole Postmaster collects the letters and delivers them to Santa’s mailbox. Then, in a moment straight out of a storybook, Santa himself appears to greet each child and hand out a special keepsake — a conductor’s whistle to remember the night.
Family Traditions on the Tracks
The North Pole Adventure™ is designed to bring out the inner child in everyone. From pajama-clad passengers to caroling elves, it’s an experience that perfectly blends nostalgia with family fun. The scenic route through Cuyahoga Valley National Park adds another layer of beauty, showcasing snow-covered forests and twinkling lights along the way.
