What is the typical daily schedule for campers?
At Dayton Ballet School, our summer schedule is designed to meet dancers exactly where they are.
Some programs are simple, once-a-week classes that allow students to stay active and consistent throughout the summer without a large time commitment. We also offer weeklong themed camps that run daily and provide an immersive, creative experience filled with dance, crafts, and performance.
For dancers ready for deeper training, we have more intensive options — including two-week and four-week Ballet Intensive programs focused on strengthening technique, artistry, conditioning, and overall growth. Whether a dancer wants something light and fun or structured and rigorous, there’s a summer option designed for them.
How old are the counselors and how are they trained?
All summer programs at Dayton Ballet School are taught by professional instructors who bring real-world experience into the classroom. Our faculty includes artists who have worked as professional dancers, stage performers, and experienced educators, giving students the opportunity to learn from instructors who understand both the art and discipline of dance.
What accommodations are made for campers with special needs?
While Dayton Ballet School does not currently offer classes specifically designed for children with special needs, we are always happy to consider each dancer individually. Families are encouraged to share any unique needs or considerations with us, and we will do our best to make thoughtful modifications when possible and appropriate to support a positive and successful experience for the student.
Our goal is to create a welcoming and supportive environment where every dancer feels encouraged to participate and grow.
Why Dayton Ballet School?Â
Summer is a great time for experienced dancers to maintain strength, flexibility, and technique while continuing to build new skills without the pressure of the regular school-year schedule. Consistent training helps dancers return in the fall feeling stronger, more confident, and ready to progress.
For dancers who are new to ballet, summer is an ideal time to begin. Classes and camps often feel more relaxed, exploratory, and fun, making it easier to try something new, build confidence, and develop foundational skills in a supportive environment.
