What makes Miami University Regionals’ STEAM Studio unique?
The Miami University STEAM Studio is a summer day camp that blends the principles of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) with those of the traditional summer camp! Each day, campers begin with a Power Up activity that will get their creative juices flowing until its time to Power Down at the end of their day. Program participants will experience hands-on activities incorporating science, technology, engineering, arts, and math, but the fun doesn’t stop there!
We also offer the STEAM Studio Leadership Academy, which is an opportunity for STEAM- inclined youth entering 9th and 10th grades to build leadership skills needed for success! Participants will spend part of their day with a Leadership Specialist, and the other part of their day working with younger participants in our STEAM labs.
Between making new friends, learning new games, and experiencing programming at the nationally-recognized Miami University Regionals’ Campuses, we guarantee to add unforgettable STEAM to your summer!

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?
STEAM Studio believes that campers should get, and deserve, individualized attention. Safety is the number one priority, and camper to staff ratio is 2 staff to every 15 participants.
How much time do the campers spend outside?
STEAM Studio participants will spend at least an hour outside every day, but depending on the program offerings and the weather each week, participants could spend more time outside.
Does the camp provide lunch/snacks or do parents need to provide them?
STEAM Studio program participants should plan on packing their own lunches, but camp will provide an afternoon snack each day. Campers will also need to bring their own refillable water bottle each day.
What is the typical daily schedule for campers?
8:45 AM: Check-In Begins

Themed workshops are designed around each week’s camp theme to include
STEAM principles in fun and exciting ways that encourage thinking and creativity!
12:00 PM: Lunch and Recreation

2:45 PM: Camper’s Choice
A chance to break away and try something new! Perhaps a game of
basketball with a new twist, experience geocaching, learn sign language, or
try your hand at a new craft! Each day’s offerings will be different!

How old are the counselors and how are they trained?
All staff are ages 16 and older, and take part in an extensive 2-week staff training prior to camp. During training, staff participate in the same workshops your child will be experiencing, and also practice lab safety and management skills while planning additional activities that are aimed to create a safe, exciting, and memorable experience!
What accommodations are made for campers with special needs?
Participants in the STEAM Studio program will need to be at the same level of health required to attend public and private schools. Participants will be required to walk to different areas of campus, but accommodations will be made to ensure no participant will be excluded from any activity.
